Mrs. Peacock: “87 Years Young”

To know Mrs. Lydia Peacock is to love her.

As a familiar face at Fit Family Challenge, Mrs. Peacock is always making those around her laugh and smile.

Mrs. Peacock describes herself as, “87 years young,” and is the epitome of aging gracefully. She attends Zumba® three times a week and is itching to attend more classes.

San Antonio Sports Fit Family Challenge presented by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas is designed to encourage families to learn about health and fitness, eat right and stay active. The free weekly Zumba and Kid Fit classes are offered at eight locations, along with great prizes and cash incentives.

Mrs. Peacock doesn’t let her age hold her back from having a great time and staying fit. Zumba is a very positive thing in her life, as shown by her beaming smile.

Flexibility is just one of the benefits that Mrs. Peacock credits to Fit Family Challenge. She feels lighter, has lost inches, and is happier.

“My attitude and just the way I feel is happy. These people are so friendly, my endorphins come out!”

Exercise has set Mrs. Peacock apart from her peers. She doesn’t take any pills, and does not struggle with arthritis like others her age might.

When asked what keeps her coming back, Mrs. Peacock explains, “I can’t stay away!”

Although Zumba makes her tired, she says it is a positive tired, and for that reason, she doesn’t have plans to quit Fit Family Challenge anytime soon.

If you are thinking about joining Fit Family Challenge but are apprehensive, Mrs. Peacock promises to stand right beside you and walk through the class with you.

“Please come. It’ll help you; I guarantee it.”
