Kids Can Rock a Marathon: Kids Rock San Antonio registration now open

  • Travis Park will serve as start & finish line for the 1-mile kids run
  • More than 3,000 local children expected to participate on Saturday, December 1

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Oct. 8, 2018 –  Kids can be part of the Humana Rock ‘n’ Roll San Antonio Marathon weekend excitement by participating in SUBWAY®  KiDS Rock powered by San Antonio Sports. This non-competitive, non-timed one-mile fun run for kids in grades K-7 will be held downtown, starting and finishing at Travis Park, on Saturday, Dec. 1.

Kids can become marathon finishers on race day by completing a cumulative marathon training program in the weeks leading up to the race. They accumulate 25.1 miles over an eight-week training period and finish the final mile on race day. Children are also able to participate in the mile run without completing the training program. An entry includes a single-day ticket to the San Antonio Zoo (good through Dec. 16), a medal, t-shirt and goodie bag.

San Antonio Sports has distributed 175,000 training logs and entry forms to 285 elementary and middle schools throughout Bexar County. Training logs can also be found at any of the 216 San Antonio area SUBWAY®  restaurants or registration can be done online at SanAntonioSports.org/kidsrock. The entry fee is $25.99 through Sunday, Nov. 25. Use promo code SAKRSUBWAY to receive a $5 race entry fee discount. Participants may also enter at the Rock ‘n’ Roll San Antonio Marathon Expo on November 30.

The 2018 event features a new downtown course for the 1-mile run that starts and finishes at Travis Park. More than 3,000 children are expected to participate.

KiDS ROCK San Antonio takes place in conjunction with the Humana Rock ‘n’ Roll 5k & 10k on Saturday morning, prior to the 11th annual Humana Rock ‘n’ Roll San Antonio Marathon & ½ Marathon on Sunday, December 2.
