High School Students Invited to Prove It

Bragging rights, swag and more part of virtual ALPHA WARRIOR TEAM TOUGH CHALLENGE

The Alpha Warrior Team Tough Challenge powered by San Antonio Sports has gone virtual. Running from Aug. 24-Sept. 30, this progressive fitness challenge encourages teamwork, accountability and provides a creative way for high school athletes to connect while in-person activities are delayed. At the end of the month-long challenge, teams who’ve completed it will be named Alpha Warriors, with the top three winning a grant for their high school athletic department or booster club. Registration is free.

Team members will follow the Alpha Warrior training program by logging their progress and posting videos to #TeamTough in order to reach team goals and move on to the next level. Workouts are progressive (Delta, Charlie, Bravo and Alpha) and teams are paired with a military team captain to keep them motivated.

Each team member completing the challenge will receive a special finisher’s medal and an Alpha Warrior Team Tough t-shirt. Teams can join at any time during the one-month challenge, but the later they join, the more difficult to complete the mission of achieving Alpha level.

“Adaptability is the name of the game in 2020 and this year’s event has pivoted from an in-person event at the Alpha Warrior Proving Grounds to a free virtual four-week team fitness challenge complete with Alpha Warrior instructional videos and workout schedules,” says Russ Bookbinder, president and CEO of San Antonio Sports. “Our goal is to provide a challenging experience that will encourage teamwork and motivate students to be fit at home and as they begin to engage in school activities.”

Sponsors include the U.S. Army, Alpha Warrior, Security Service Credit Union, POWERADE, Ancira, Taco Cabana, OrthoNow and Methodist Healthcare.
