SAN ANTONIO, TX (AUGUST 19, 2024) San Antonio Sports announced the team line up for the second annual San Antonio International Team Tennis Championships presented by Frost and H-E-B. The team competition is set for November 8-10 at Freeman Coliseum.
“We are thrilled to welcome back this event that provides tennis fans an opportunity to see world class tennis,” said Jenny Carnes, president & CEO, San Antonio Sports. “The San Antonio International Team Tennis Championships will feature both top ranked men and women professionals in a fun format.”
The San Antonio International Team Tennis Championships will feature two teams consisting of top ATP & WTA players, college players and top ranked Texas juniors. The San Antonio Smash will be led by Tommy Paul, the top ranked American and Olympic bronze medalist, with U.S. Open Champion, Sloane Stephens, WTA star Elina Svitolina and ATP stars, J.J. Wolf and Bob Bryan. Wayne Bryan will captain the San Antonio Smash. The Austin Capitals will be led by returning three-time U.S. Open champion Kim Clijsters and ATP stars, Gael Monfils and Mike Bryan. They will welcome new teammates Australian Open champion, Sophia Kenin and NCAA champion, Marcos Giron. Murphy Jensen will captain the Austin Capitals. In addition to the tennis professionals, college players from Baylor, Texas A&M, UTSA, Trinity and UIW, along with top juniors from John Newcombe Tennis Ranch and Austin Tennis Academy, will also be part of the team event.
