Free Jack Ingram Concert to Kick Off Fiesta FitFest

A free concert featuring country music artist Jack Ingram will highlight the first night of Fiesta FitFest presented by H-E-B on Friday, April 8. The Grammy-nominated star’s concert will begin at 8 p.m. on the Thomas J Henry Center Stage in the heart of the University Health Athlete’s Village. Fiesta FitFest, hosted by local nonprofit San Antonio Sports, will take place April 8-10 at UTSA’s main campus east parking lot. Entrance is free and open to the public.

Texas-born Ingram’s records have earned both critical and peer praise. His first number one song was in 2005, Wherever You Are.  Since then, he’s remained popular, winning a CMT Music Award for Wide Open Country Video of the Year in 2007, named the Academy of Country Music’s Top New Male Vocalist in 2008, and nominated for a Grammy in 2018 for Tin Man, which won the Academy of Country Music’s Best Country Song in 2018.

The weekend of fitness and fun also includes live music from puro Tex-Mex Las Callejeros De San Anto and Latino indie band Volcan on Saturday, and Chris Cuevas Project, an original music band, blending blues, funk, soul, Latin and jazz genres on Sunday. There will also be DJ music throughout the weekend.

Fiesta FitFest kicks off on Fiesta Friday, April 8 with opening ceremonies, a beer mile run featuring Michelob Ultra, Alpha Warrior fitness challenge and music from DJ Catwalk.

Fiesta FitFest 5K & 10K presented by Michelob Ultra will take place Saturday, April 9, along with the Alpha Warrior Challenge presented by Ancira, the L’Étape San Antonio kids’ ride, group exercise classes featuring Jesse James Leija, F45 and celebrity appearances from American Ninja Warriors, Tour de France champion Alberto Contador hosted by XPEL, and others. Interactive exhibits, health and wellness activities, food and cycling clinics will take place throughout the University Health Athletes’ Village and Expo.
