One hundred-seventeen (117) student athletes representing 68 high schools have been chosen for the San Antonio Sports All-Star Football Game, presented by Valero. It’s the 47th anniversary of the game which will showcase top local high school players on Saturday, January 11 at the Alamodome. The area’s top seniors will take the field at 5 p.m. following the All-American Bowl which kicks off at noon.
One ticket serves as admission for both the All-American Bowl and San Antonio Sports All-Star Football Game presented by Valero. General admission tickets are $15 and will go on sale later this month. The game will also be broadcast on The CW35 and San Antonio Sports Star 94.1 FM/1250 AM radio.
Pieper High School’s head football coach Nick Rogers will coach Team White, and Eddie Salas from Harlan High School will coach Team Blue. Players were nominated by their high school coaches. One hundred-ten (110) were named to All-District teams last year. In addition to physical skills, players who are All-Stars reflect perseverance, character and inner strength.
“A record number of schools nominated players for the game, which is a testament to the talent in our area,” says Jenny Carnes, San Antonio Sports President & CEO. “Along with Valero, we are proud to host this game which provides an additional opportunity for athletes to be seen by college scouts while celebrating Texas high school football and the transformational power of sport.”
The San Antonio Sports All-Star Football Game, presented by Valero, will feature players who are committed to play for some of the top universities in the country as well as those looking for an additional chance to impress college scouts with potential scholarships to offer. Sixty-one (61) who were in the 2024 All-Star Game signed to play college football, including eleven (11) going to NCAA DI schools. Ninety-eight (98) were named all-district and four were MVPs.
San Antonio loves high school football, and game day will be an incredible showcase of high school football talent!
