Jenny Carnes started at San Antonio Sports as an intern during her last semester at the University of the Incarnate Word. In 2022, she was named President and CEO of the organization.
During her time with San Antonio Sports, Carnes has held multiple roles, including executive director of the local organizing committee for the several NCAA Men’s Final Fours, the 2021 NCAA Women’s DI Basketball Tournament and senior vice president, among others. As CEO, she follows in the steps of Russ Bookbinder, who led San Antonio Sports for 10 years before her.
Since taking over as head of the organization, Carnes has helped San Antonio Sports continue its mission of transforming the community through the power of sport. Under her, San Antonio Sports 
has launched its 40th anniversary campaign, Fit Family Challenge transformed into ACTIVATE and a new high school all-star basketball game was played along with many more developments.
With Carnes at the helm, San Antonio Sports continues to heavily affect the surrounding community through youth sports, major events and other programs, with even bigger plans for the future.
