Rhonda Grant first volunteered with San Antonio Sports when a friend invited her to join in helping with the 2018 NCAA Men’s Final Four. “The experience was so great that I continued to look for new opportunities to work with this organization,” which is music to our ears. Since then, she has helped with Fit Family Challenge, Corporate Cup, the Rock ‘n’ Roll San Antonio Marathon and San Antonio Sports All-Star Football Game.
However, this year’s NCAA Women’s DI Basketball Championship has been her favorite event so far. Saying she had the time of her life, Rhonda helped with volunteer check-in, sixth man and practice operations. “The opportunity to serve the awesome women on each team and to make sure that San Antonio is known as the greatest, most hospitable city in the world,” was her priority.
The memory of the excitement and willingness of all the volunteers to give of their time and talents made it special. “Many volunteers came for extra shifts, always asked if there was more to do and did everything that was asked with a smile and genuine willingness to help.”
San Antonio Sports regards our volunteer corps as one of our greatest assets when bidding and hosting events. Rhonda is a sterling example of why.
