Public nominations are being accepted for the San Antonio Sports Hall of Fame. Nominees must have made an impact in the world of sports, either through outstanding athletic achievements or outstanding contributions to athletic programs, as well as have ties to San Antonio. The new class will be announced during a press conference in the fall and officially inducted during the San Antonio Sports Hall of Fame Tribute on March 28, 2020.
Nominations are being accepted through Friday, July 12, 2019.
Nomination forms are available online at www.mySA.com/HOFNominate through July 12. If a person is already on the ballot, he or she does not need to be nominated again. Some nominees from past years have been removed from the list because they didn’t receive the minimum number of votes in last year’s selection process. The San Antonio Sports Hall of Fame is a partnership between San Antonio Sports, the City of San Antonio, and San Antonio Express-News. The first class was inducted in 1995. The official induction ceremony takes place at the annual San Antonio Sports Hall of Fame Tribute in March. Proceeds from the black-tie gala benefit San Antonio Sports kids programs which annually provide sports and fitness programs for thousands of local children.
