2009 Champions Minnesota State-Mankato

Fans of high scoring, fast-paced competitive basketball were treated to the best the game has to offer at the title match for the NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Championship.  Minnesota State-Mankato earned their first championship beating Franklin Pierce, NH at St. Mary’s University’s Greehey Arena last week.  The Elite Eight was held in San Antonio for the first time, with the title game televised nationally on ESPN2.  Tickets were affordable at $5 and $8, giving the community a great opportunity to see championship collegiate basketball that was every bit as exciting as games from Division I.
