San Antonio is NCAA^® Championship City^®

The NCAA has selected six cities, including San Antonio, to serve as inaugural members in its new “NCAA Championship City” pilot program and awarded San Antonio Sports this prestigious designation along with the hosting rights for several NCAA events. San Antonio’s history of hosting successful NCAA Championship events dates back to 1997.

The first NCAA Championship City event for San Antonio was the 2009 Division II Women’s Basketball Championship that took place at St. Mary’s University’s Greehey Arena in March 2009.
