The sixth annual San Antonio Sports Corporate Cup presented by Ortho Now was the biggest and best one yet! Thanks to all of our competing companies, sponsors, team captains, participants and spectators for being a part of it. Eighty-six teams, more than 5,000 participants, and countless spectators enjoyed 13 events at the University of the Incarnate Word. Teams brought their “A” game to the competitions, t-shirts were as clever and witty as ever, and team tailgating was impressive, with fun themes and good eats. Why We Do It Approximately $175,000 was raised from entry fees and sponsorships to support San Antonio Sports and our kids programs, which annually provide sports and fitness programs for thousands of local children. Yes, we do it for the kids, but we also do it for our participating charities. Your contributions delivered 1,078,333 pounds of food to the San Antonio Food Bank, 6,493 pints of lifesaving blood to the South Texas Blood & Tissue Center and University Health System Blood Donor Services, 25,925 pairs of socks, 489 bras, 956 underwear, 539 shirts, and $27,805 which will serve the men, women, families with children and veterans living on the Transformational Campus at Haven for Hope, and 4,779 dozen pencils, 6,880 dozen crayons, 1,189 glue stick 3-packs, 1,206 bottles of glue, 912 packs of construction paper, and $11,838 in monetary donations to purchase school supplies for the Boys & Girls Club.
